My first impression of the iPad was negative due to the many complaints I have heard about it. Reviewing its features did not improve my impression. It is basically a mini-computer. You can access the internet, store music and photos on it, read books on it, and do many other things.
I do not see the purpose of it. My life is not so controlled by the internet that I have to have access to it wherever I am. When I do want access to the internet I want a large screen and a large keyboard and mouse. I do not need to have music on it. I have my iPod for that. If I want to read I want a book, not a screen. If I want directions I can look online or call for information. I do not see the point in buying a piece of technology that does the same things as technology that I already own.
The iPad is over $499 for only 16GB and $699 for 64GB. It is more expensice than it would be worth for the use I would get from it, especially since it does not even have phoning ability. With the kind of money I would have to pay to buy an iPad I might as well buy a computer.
